>> PROJECT :

Establishment and Management of an Agricultural Investment Fund

The primary objective of the project was to design, implement, and manage long-term agricultural investments for an institutional investor, totaling 45.5 million Euros, and to oversee the resulting investment portfolio.

We developed a comprehensive and detailed investment concept for our fund in agriculture and established an external investment vehicle. Extensive feasibility studies were conducted to identify optimal investment opportunities in agriculture and rural infrastructure worldwide, taking into account local economies, national legislation, and internal policies.

Our services supported the entire implementation of the investment projects at all stages, including:

  • Identifying investment opportunities in farming, agro-production, and agro-processing globally.
  • Conducting feasibility studies for countries and regions suitable for investment, as well as individual investment projects.
  • Purchasing farms, agricultural land, forests, and agricultural companies.
  • Implementing and managing investment clusters in Europe and South America, including designing and establishing necessary infrastructure (subsidiary companies, tax and legal advice, proper accounting and monitoring, etc.).
  • Monitoring investment opportunities in agriculture and rural businesses worldwide.
  • Keeping track of national legislation related to agriculture, investment, and agricultural land ownership.
  • Managing the portfolio, including production, legal, and fiscal issues.
  • Directly managing 1,000 hectares of arable production in South America with an annual turnover of about 1.2 million Euros, handling the entire range of production and marketing issues.

In total, we implemented 26 agricultural investment projects across two continents and five countries (Germany, UK, Latvia, Estonia, and Uruguay), amounting to 45.5 million Euros. ABG established five subsidiary companies to provide a local institutional framework and set up effective long-term structures in each country to ensure proper legal and tax advice for our business. Additionally, ABG identified, vetted, contracted, and monitored over 50 tenants for the properties in these countries and successfully managed more than 1,000 hectares of arable land in Uruguay.
